People who are used to advanced email clients are missing a calendar in Thunderbird in which they can take notes of tasks and scheduled events.

Lightning is a Thunderbird extension that will allow you to include a calendar / organizer in the email client by Mozilla.

Compatibility is assured as Lightning is created by the same developers of Mozilla, who came together on the project Mozilla Calendar Project. An application designed to provide a free alternative to other calendars / organizers like <a href=http://sunbird.en.uptodown.com/ubuntu>Sunbird</ a>.

Lightning can display both local and remote calendars, provide support for iCalendar, CalDAV or WCAP.As well, you have the possibility of inserting events, because there is support for the inclusion of multiple categories, reminders, and the creation of tasks.

To install Lightning extension you must download and load it from the Add option in the Tools menu in Thunderbird.
